Click here for first picture in gallery. 360 Skateboard At first glance, this gadget may look like an auto accessory, but it's actually an innovative skateboard. Basically, riders insert their feet into the board's all-terrain (grass or gravel) orbital wheels, and do tricks like they would on its four-wheeled counterpart. Connected by steel shafts, the wheels allow for easy movement and doubles as a speed regulation system. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced. Streetcarver At first glance, the Streetcarver -- made of stiff wood and fiberglass -- seems to be a normal skateboard, but its steering mechanism actually makes it ride more like a snowboard. Turning characteristics largely depend on the angle of the mechanism's swing lever arms.

Skateboarding is a sport that is close to my heart, but I think one of the things that I liked most about hanging out in skateboard shops was the ever changing wall of skateboard deck art that was constantly updating with ever wilder, cooler, funkier, scarier or whateverer graphics. I honestly think that on any day for the last 20 years you could take the display wall of just about any skate board shop in the world, drop it straight into the Museum of Contemporary Art.
